EnergySmart Standard Residential Rebates
Application
You can apply for your EnergySmart Standard Rebate when your project is complete and a final invoice or other supporting documents are available. Do not apply before your invoice is available, you’ll need to submit the invoice with the rebate form.
We’ve laid out the following steps to complete before you continue with the application to ensure the process moves as smoothly and quickly as possible. Please be sure you’ve fully completed each step before moving on to the next.
Important: The process and application below is only for EnergySmart Standard Rebates. If you are pursuing an Income-Qualified Rebate through EnergySmart, please do not use this form. Contact your EnergySmart advisor for more information.
Step One – Ensure Project Eligibility
Before you apply for EnergySmart Rebates, you must ensure that your project is eligible.
Important Information:
- Rebates are only available for projects completed in the current calendar year, EnergySmart cannot retroactively rebate projects completed in previous years
- Each project needs to meet the equipment and/or scope of work requirements as laid out in the eligible measures
Check project eligibility requirements:

Certain projects may require that the contractor used must be on your primary electric utility’s registered installers list.
Check contractor requirements based on your utility:
- Xcel Energy – Contractor must be listed on eligible installer list for insulation/air sealing, ducted (included partially ducted) air source or mini-split heat pump, heat pump water heater, and ground source heat pump projects
- Note: Ductless (fully non-ducted) mini-split heat pumps do not have a contractor requirement

We offer two ways to complete the claim form:

Once your claim form has been submitted, our team will review the application. If approved, someone will be in touch confirming the rebate approval, rebate amount, and other final details. If more information is needed someone will be in touch accordingly.
My Rebate was Approved, Now What?
Once your rebate is approved, it will be submitted for processing.
